confessions of a fan.

..a shopaholic fan. ;)

I started reading the Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella when I was in second year high school. I was able to read 3 of
her books then: Confessions of a Shopaholic, Shopaholic takes Manhattan, and Shopaholic & Sister. It was only last year when I started to read again the remaining books, Shopaholic Ties the Knot and Shopaholic & Baby. I was able to finish them already! Though I regret not reading them in order. :| I read Shopaholic & Sister first before Ties the Knot and Baby; then I read Baby first before Ties the Knot.

But anyway, I really got addicted to Becky Bloomwood's story. I liked how Sophie Kinsella created twists in Becky's life. From shopping and credit card problems to living between New York and London
, then with her bestfriend and boyfriend, to her parents and Luke's mom, her around the world honeymoon and a long lost sister, then to her pregnancy and giving birth struggles. I liked how she writes, she's into giving a lot of detailed descriptions, but doesn't spoil what's gonna happen next or what will she deicde on doing. She makes sure to hook the readers in finding out about the next thing. It's fun to ride along Becky's adventure. :D

When I found out there would be a movie of it, of course I got so excited! I did not let this one pass. I wanna see how Becky Bloomwood come alive. Of course, I wanna compare too how different it would be from the books.

I saw the movie yesterday, and it wasn't so bad at all. I loved it, actually. The movie covered the first two books, Confessions and Manhattan, but I guess they had some parts from Ties the Knot (like Suze's wedding; I think that it's really from the Ties the Knot book, ahahaha). The movie was funny, really funny. In the book, I see Becky as such, and when I saw her in the movie, I enjoyed more her humor. The dance with Luke was the funniest one for me. :)) I also liked how they made the mannequins move and act like her convincing conscience. What I was disappointed a bit was with Luke Brandon. I imagine him in the book as a really hot one, but in the movie he didn't appeal to me as much. They should've gotten a hotter one, nyahahaha. But oh well, they kinda match and look good together. I also adore her clothes, most especially the shoes! Oh I love them, they're all pretty. ;) I guess it won't be a shopaholic movie if she wouldn't have really nice stuff, nyaha.

I was actually bitin with it. I really hope they would have a sequel to it, featuring the rest of the series. They just have to shorten the movie time, I found it kinda long. But, the whole story was there, so no boring parts. I'm gonna wait til the next one! ;))
