alone.

Because I have nothing to do, here I am blogging.
I just finished my first class for today.
Still one hour and fifty-two minutes til my next class.
I'm waiting for my break buddy who's stuck in Pasay traffic, nyaha.
So here I am alone in the comlab, trying to do my logo design.
I have made something already, but I'm not satisfied with it.
I will try to do again later.

I want to eat lunch already.
Where art thou, break buddy? ;)

hold up. don't move.

I never thought such TV news would happen to someone I know and close to me. And, it didn't just happen to one, but two.

Wednesday night was the first hold up incident. My friend texted me that he was in the police station. After some time, he replied again and said that it was because someone tried to snatch his phone while they were in the jeepney. Because he was aware of what the snatcher tried to do, he gave him a punch right on his face. Then, they were able to see some policemen on the road, so they were able to report what happened. My friend and his two blockmates plus the snatcher were sent to the police station for the report. Good thing nothing has been taken and not much harm done physically. (Except for the snatcher guy who got what he deserved from those three, wahaha.)

I got scared and realized how unsafe it is to commute at night.
And I thought that was it, nothing more incident of the same kind until..

last night, Friday, around 12midnight. I was texting with another friend and he was sharing some stories. In the middle of our conversation, he didn't reply for some time, so I thought he already fell asleep. When I was about to sleep, I got a message from him saying that he was held up. I thought he was joking, and I told him not to because I'm scared already of that thing. But he said he was serious. I got really nervous and more scared. He was riding the jeepney on his way back to his dorm when two guys jumped to him and tried getting his phone. He defended himself by holding the hands of the guys and kicking them away. The most scary thing was they had a knife, a sharp thing they can stab to him anytime. But thankfully, he was able to survive. They didn't get anything from him or even stabbed him. He got this little wound because of fighting back, but I guess it's better than anything worse.

These two incidents made me realize how prominent crimes are now. And, it can happen to anyone. I am now scared of commuting, really, whether during day time or night time. I wouldn't know when they would come.

We have to pray always for safety and protection.
God wouldn't leave us nor let us be harmed.
Only in God's hand is where we can have our safest place.

a new layout.

There you go. ;)

I finally found a rainbow-ish layout that I really liked. I got this layout from BlogSkins.com. The layout is in classic form, so I edited some stuff the html way. Unlike in the new xml blogger form, it's easy to add gadgets and all. But oh well, I'm happy with this. :D

Comments cannot be made, because there isn't a comment link after the posts. (I'll figure it out! I want the commenting enabled!) So, the tagboard would be very much useful for reactions and all. I would really appreciate them. :))

january rain.

It's just the first week of the year, and a typhoon has come already. It was, I think, in January 4 when typhoon Auring arrived in the country. As what I've seen from the news, Cagayan de Oro was the province that was most badly affected. Because of floods, many residents there were forced to leave their homes and stay in evacuation areas. What a bad start of the year for them. :(

School has started already, too. And with this kind of weather, it doesn't make me want to come back more. I still have this vacation hangover and unfixed body clock. Now with this kind of cold times, I just want to stay in bed the whole day. I also super hate commuting while it's raining, it's super hassle for me. So I guess, not a good school start for me too. (My professors are fine, so far, so they aren't part of this bad start. xp)

I want my mind to function properly for school.
I want my body to work.. and work.
I want my sleeping habit be in favor of my schedule.
I just want this rain to be over, and I guess I won't be lazy much to keep going.

the fun break i had. :))

This Christmas-slash-term break really allowed me to have a VACATION.
I enjoyed every single day I had.
I had a great time. :D

DECEMBER 19. Our course card distribution day. I went to school in the morning to get my course card and submit them to the SGO for my enrollment. After, I went to buy gifts for my TCOA loves. I was supposed to join them in Town, but then I took a long time preparing the gifts. AND, the traffic, it was so BAD. I rode with Ryan and Rob on the way to Town, since they were going there anyway. It took us more than an hour to reach Town, the usual is around 30 minutes or less, that's why I wasn't able to ride with Lauren going to their house. Well at least, Teacher Chelo and Teacher Jan were meeting up in Mcdo, so I still had a ride going to the Pastores'.
(I posted a blog already about this party, so i guess you refer to THIS if you want to be refreshed.)

DECEMBER 20. We left Lauren's house around before lunch. I went home to get my stuff I would need for church. Then off I went to church for gift wrapping and loot bags packing for the Sunday School Christmas party the next day. After, we had rehearsals for the musicale Sunday evening. It was a tiring day, but yeah, I was productive.

DECEMBER 21. We had the Sunday School Christmas party in the morning. So many kids came. They had presentations per class: the pre-school kids, grades 1 to 3, and grades 4 to 6. There were games and prizes. And of course, the gifts. Everyone who came received a loot bag with snacks and toys. They really enjoyed the party, and I was so happy to see them all smiling after. Indeed, Christmas is best enjoyed by kids.

In the evening, we presented EVERLASTING LIGHT, a Christmas musicale. Most were songs presented by the choir. They were awesome. I had a dance part with Micha, and another with the Creative Arts group. I felt fulfilled after. Thank God for the strength and gift He gave me to dance. I enjoyed the performance; I enjoyed how His Spirit led to me to perform my best.

DECEMBER 22. I stayed at home. But, Iella and Ryan came over. We worked on the video for Meme's debut. Oh great!

DECE
MBER 23. I thought I would be a bum that day, but then Ryan texted that I can join them in Town. So, I went with them. I was able to buy shoes! And, I received my Starbucks shirt. (The previous blog about it, heehee.) And the more fun part, we played chines checkers in San Fo! Oh what boredom can do.. xp

DECEMBER 24. I went with my Mom to my Lola's house to prepare the food we'll have for the 25th. On our way there, it was raining. When we got off at Ayala, the rain was so hard. We didn't have an umbrella, magaling. So yeah, we got so wet for when we thought the rain was manageable already, it poured again. Anyway, we went to the grocery before going to my Lola's house. They made the mocha graham and buko pandan there. Yummeeeeh, love it. :D

DECEMBER 25. CHRISTMAS DAY, happy birthday, Jesus! I went to church in the morning. And then after, lunch at my Lola's house. Great food! :D The celebration was more than the gifts and food and all, it was a celebration of God's faithfulness to us.

DECEMBER 26. Another Town day. I went first with batchmates. We had this " song rehearsal" for Meme's debut. But then, Rob just played the music and let us listen to it and be familiar with our parts, not a serious rehearsal. At 6pm, Lauren, Charm, and I met with Teacher Chelo for our Life 101 at Pancake House. We listened to Teacher Chelo's non-stop stories. But of course, we were able to take time to reflect on what we had for the past year. It was a good time to just pause and take time to listen. :)

DECEMBER 27. I went with my mom to a dedication of a churchmate's daughter in the morning. In the afternoon, we went to Caloocan for it was my Lola's (the one who passed away) 40 days. It was Tita Zeny's birthday too so we stayed there til evening. I had a fun time with my cousins. We were allowed to taste red and blue vodka. My mom was there too beside us! They had a videoke thing also, where they sang and all. A really fun time. I wasn't able to bond like that with my cousins for a long time already. So, that was indeed a memorable time for me.

DECEMBER 28. After I attended church in VCF, I went with Teacher Chelo to Asian Hospital to visit Sophia Ochoa's, a student in Palms, 4-month-old sister Sabina. She was in ICU then, for she had a breathing problem. The baby was so cute, I felt sad that she had to suffer a disease so young. We prayed for her and her mom too there. I was supposed to go home after, but then Iella said she was alone in Town so I decided to drop by there first. I met with her and Cej too. We bought Meme's lovely gift. :D I went home after, while they went to their cotillion rehearsal at the hotel.
I went to the hotel for Meme's debut around 5:30. We stayed first at the hotel room and went down to the hall minutes before 7pm. The program started before 8. The whole thing was so fun! Jess and Rox hosted the event. There was this game that we didn't win, booooo. Our "surprise" for Meme was good, too. (Oh, right? xp) But oh well, I really had a great time, a fun fun debut indeed! :))

We had sleepover after! I stayed in the hotel with Iella, Jess, Rox, Rob, Lea, Cej, Ryan, Youko, Brai, and the new batch.. Franz! Since we all didn't want to sleep yet, we decided to go to Mcdo around 2:30am. When we got off the elevator, the lobby was smoky, we thought something happened there. The smoke smelled like some pesticide fog thing. Anyway, off we went outside the hotel. While we were deciding in the middle of the food thing behind Bellevue, Ryan did this kalokohan to Brai. I won't expound much, kinda foul. xp But then, it was super laughtrip. :)) We decided to stay on the tables outside, ate at Mcdo, then went back to the hotel sometime before 4am. We didn't sleep right away when we got back, we stayed up for some minutes, and then off we all went to sleep. A tiring night, but we all sure had FUN. ;)

DECEMBER 29. Started the day at the hotel, still with my sleepover friends. We woke up sometime between 9 to 10am, enjoyed the last hours at the hotel, and then fixed our stuff. Tita Minda treated us for lunch at KFC in Festival Mall. I was able to be home around 2pm. When I got home, I quickly took a bath and prepared myself to leave RIGHT AWAY to meet with my cousins in TriNoma. I went with my sister there. We arrived sometime before 4pm, they ate first, then we went to Starbucks. My sister bought shoes there too, and I even saw Charmaine and her family in the same place where my sister was looking for shoes. The TriNoma thing with my cousins was the first mall hangout I had with them. And really, I enjoyed. I wish to have more of that with them!

DECEMBER 30. A rest day. I stayed at home the whole day, and I was able to get sleep! Awesome. :D

DECEMBER 31. My Tween Elaine's eighteenth birthday! I went to her lunch celebration in Shakey's Glorietta. I thought I wouldn't make it coz of no ride, but thankfully, I found a way. I was able to hangout with Elaine again. Lovely. ;)

I was online in the evening til New Year came. I celebrated the New Year with friends through YM! A new way of celebrating with friends! ;p

JANUARY 1.
Happy New Year! I was up until about 4am, so I woke up around lunch time already. Another day that I stayed home, and had a batugan life. :D

JANUARY 2. A date with my TCOA Seniors loves. I met with Shek, Charm, Mash, Bei, Anj, and Lauren. We planned this get together before Lauren would leave again for UWC. Her last hangout request with us. Aww. We had a great time! We met in Town first to have lunch at Pancake House. Teacher Chelo dropped by. We had our picture by the Christmas tree too! When we got to Lauren's house, we played our favorite game, Wii! :D We also made up this home-made Picture City, wherein we used printed blankets for our background. Instant studio! :D A really, really fun time. ;)

JANUARY 3. I really had no plans for this day. When I went online in the affternoon, Ryan told me to go with him to Grach's house to give back the 1 foot of her Havs. I said ok, but I didn't know that he would pick me up so soon. Anyway, I still went with him, thinking that we would just drop by Grach's slippers and leave after. When we arrived outside her house, we saw their gate open and some tables outside. It was Grach's birthday so we thought she had a paty. Rob came out and told us to come in and join them for only a few will be there. So yeah, we decided to stay and join the celebration. Rob and Rizza were there already, Brai arrived sometime later. After we ate dinner, we played Taboo. I was teamed with Brai and Rizza, while the other team was composed of Rob, Ryan, and Grach. The game was really pressuring, especially when you're the one who would give clues. Our team was leading the whole time! :D Renzo was added to our team, and it made us lead more. Around 10pm, we decided to leave already so we can go to Starbucks. When we arrived there, there were a lot of people still so we went to Ruins first. After going around once, we went to Starbucks and stayed there. I had a great night of sudden hang out. I enjoyed hanging out with them for the last time before school would start. And oh, that was the first time again that I was able to hang out with Rizza love! :)

This break is super unforgettable. I didn't enjoy my previous breaks as much as I did this time. This made me so lazy to go back to school, coz I want to have more.
To all my friends and relatives who became part of making this break a memorable time, THANK YOU! :)) I super loved it! Til the next bonding time I would have with you guys. ♥
