I never thought such TV news would happen to someone I know and close to me. And, it didn't just happen to one, but two. 9:09 PM

Wednesday night was the first hold up incident. My friend texted me that he was in the police station. After some time, he replied again and said that it was because someone tried to snatch his phone while they were in the jeepney. Because he was aware of what the snatcher tried to do, he gave him a punch right on his face. Then, they were able to see some policemen on the road, so they were able to report what happened. My friend and his two blockmates plus the snatcher were sent to the police station for the report. Good thing nothing has been taken and not much harm done physically. (Except for the snatcher guy who got what he deserved from those three, wahaha.) I got scared and realized how unsafe it is to commute at night. And I thought that was it, nothing more incident of the same kind until.. last night, Friday, around 12midnight. I was texting with another friend and he was sharing some stories. In the middle of our conversation, he didn't reply for some time, so I thought he already fell asleep. When I was about to sleep, I got a message from him saying that he was held up. I thought he was joking, and I told him not to because I'm scared already of that thing. But he said he was serious. I got really nervous and more scared. He was riding the jeepney on his way back to his dorm when two guys jumped to him and tried getting his phone. He defended himself by holding the hands of the guys and kicking them away. The most scary thing was they had a knife, a sharp thing they can stab to him anytime. But thankfully, he was able to survive. They didn't get anything from him or even stabbed him. He got this little wound because of fighting back, but I guess it's better than anything worse. These two incidents made me realize how prominent crimes are now. And, it can happen to anyone. I am now scared of commuting, really, whether during day time or night time. I wouldn't know when they would come. We have to pray always for safety and protection. God wouldn't leave us nor let us be harmed. Only in God's hand is where we can have our safest place. 0 comments: |
